Shantanu Tyagi
Shantanu Tyagi is a Partner in the Firm’s Dispute Resolution practice. He works very closely on matters pertaining to litigation and commercial arbitration.
Shantanu has been part of Domestic & International Commercial Arbitrations and related litigation. He also regularly advises clients on contentious issues arising under the Food Safety and Standards Act, Industrial Disputes Act and Patents Act. He represents clients in litigations before the Supreme Court of India as well in the Delhi High Court and in specialized Tribunals such as the Debt Recovery Tribunal, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and National Company Law Tribunal.
He joined the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. in 2013 and was with the Firm until its dissolution in 2015. That year, he was inducted in Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.
Shantanu graduated from National Law Institute University, Bhopal in 2011.

Arbitrations
- Represented Dongfang Electric Corporation., a Chinese manufacturing giant of power generation equipment, in a commercial arbitration under the ICC Rules against West Bengal Power and Development Corporation Limited. The dispute related to erection and commission of a coal based thermal power plant for the Indian entity. He also acted in the consequential enforcement of the award before High Court of Calcutta;
- Represented Public Health and Engineering Department, State of Mizoram in a dispute arising out of a construction contract for a water supply scheme under Indian Council of Arbitration Rules. He also acted in the subsequent challenge of the award.

- Represented Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, A. a Spanish manufacturer of railway coaches and wagons in an international commercial arbitration under ICC Rules against Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited. He later successfully represented the Client in challenge before Delhi High Court and is now representing them in the enforcement of the award.
- Represented Reebok International Limited, a leading manufacturer of sports apparels and products in an international commercial arbitration arising from a Joint Venture Agreement against its JV partner under ICC Rules. He was later part of the team that successfully defended the challenge before High Court of Delhi.
- Represented Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, A. a Spanish manufacturer of railway coaches and wagons in mediation proceedings against Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation.
- Appeared and represented HCL Technologies Limited before the High Court of Delhi in a dispute arising out of a User Licence Agreement entered into with SAP under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. He later represented the client in the mediation proceedings, which lead to amicable resolution of disputes.
- Appeared and represented Sterlite Technologies Limited before the High Court of Delhi Limited in a dispute arising from a Master Service Agreement with a contractor under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
- Appeared and represented CVAS, an International leading Fintech Company in arbitration proceedings pertaining to a tender dispute relating to deploying of a system in an Indian Telecom
- Appeared and represented HCL Technologies Limited, an Indian IT Service giant in a commercial arbitration arising from a contract for integration of an ERP IT System against Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited.
- Appeared and represented THDC India Limited, a power generation company, a Govt. India Undertaking in challenge to an arbitral award and its execution.
