He is a member of the firm’s banking and finance practice group. He has advised and assisted (i) special situation funds and asset reconstruction companies in their debt restructuring deals and assessment of India opportunities in the distressed space, (ii) universal banks, payments banks, small finance banks and shadow banks in private equity infusion, mergers, demergers and structuring of financial products, (iiii) performing credit funds in their structured debt finance transactions, and (iv) digital payment platforms, neo-banks and other fintech players in designing and structuring their financial products.
Dhananjai has experience in advising major clients such as (i) Bank of America, Ares SSG, Davidson Kempner, Broadpeak, Arkkan Capital, SC Lowy, Farmstead Capital, Centerbridge, Citadel Capital, LCM Capital Management, Brookfield and Edelweiss in connection with their special situations deals / performing credit deals and securitizations in India, and, (ii) Carlyle, DBS Bank, Rabo Partnerships, Jungle Ventures, Bandhan Bank, Emirates NBD, Warburg Pincus, IDFC First Bank, Fino Payments Bank and Annapurna Finance in their private equity infusions, mergers, demergers into the financial sector in India, and related advisory.
