Shreya Jain is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice at the Firm.
Shreya focuses on domestic and international arbitrations (both commercial and investor-state), litigations arising from arbitrations, and cross border disputes generally.
Shreya is dual qualified to practice in India and New York and has studied and worked in both jurisdictions. She also sits as an arbitrator and is a member of the SIAC Reserve Panel of Arbitrators and the LCIA Database of Arbitrators.
Shreya’s experience includes complex arbitrations under the major international arbitration rules (ICSID, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, etc.) and the representation of a diverse range of clients in the private equity, energy, construction, oil and gas, public utilities, commodities and insurance industries. She has worked on arbitrations seated in a variety of jurisdictions, such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Singapore, London, New York, Washington D.C, Kigali, Geneva, and Stockholm. She also regularly advises clients on the drafting of international arbitration clauses and structuring investments under investment treaties.
Shreya is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Harvard Law School, where she was a J.N. Tata and Narottam Sekhsaria scholar. Before joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, she worked at Cooley LLP in New York and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.
Shreya is currently serving as a member of the IBA Arbitration Committee’s Taskforce on Res Judicata and a regional representative at Young ICCA. She has previously served as an editor of the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, the India Co-Chair of Young ITA, Asia Pacific representative of the YIAG (LCIA’s under-40 group) and Secretary of the Harvard Club of Mumbai. She also teaches as a visiting lecturer in various Indian law schools.

- Represented an Italian company in an ICC arbitration seated in Sweden, pursuant to a FIDIC (Red Book) based international construction contract governed by Kazakh law.
- Represented a Turkish construction joint venture in parallel ICC commercial and investment arbitrations under the Turkey-Libya BIT, arising out of the construction of the world’s largest water-pipeline network in Libya.
- Represented a Spanish infrastructure company in indemnity disputes arising out of equity investments in an Indian road asset project company in a Singapore-seated SIAC arbitration.
