Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. advises SageOne Investment Managers and its founder Samit Vartak on acquisition by ASK Asset Management

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) advised SageOne Investment Managers LLP (“SageOne”) and its founder, Mr. Samit Vartak, on the sale of 100% of the partnershipinterest in SageOne to ASK Asset Management Private Limited (“ASK AMC”), a Blackstone-backed asset management platform.

SageOne is a SEBI-registered portfolio manager and investment manager of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), and also has an IFSCA-registered fund management entity in GIFT City. The acquisition brings together two established investment management platforms with complementary synergies. As part of the transaction, Mr. Samit Vartak will be appointed as Chief Investment Officer – Equities at ASK IM for the combined business.

The Acquisition Agreement and the agreement with ASK Investment Managers Limited were executed on September 30, 2026. The transaction remains subject to applicable regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

SAM acted as legal counsel to SageOne, SageOne Ventures LLP and the sellers, advising on all aspects of the transaction, including the negotiation and finalisation of the acquisition agreement, the agreement with ASK Investment Managers Limited and other transaction documents.
