Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. advises Kora Investments I LLC in relation to its investment in Zomato

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM & Co) advised Kora Investments I LLC (“Kora”), in relation to their investment of approximately INR 379 crores in Zomato Private Limited (“Zomato”). As part of the transaction, Kora subscribed to compulsorily convertible cumulative preference shares of Zomato, acquiring approximately 1.5% of the equity stake in Zomato.
The Private Equity and M&A practice group at SAM & Co advised Kora in relation to the transaction and were involved in all aspects related to the investment in Zomato. This included carrying out a due diligence, and drafting, negotiating and finalising the definitive documents.
The transaction team that worked on the deal from SAM & Co, was led by Jay Gandhi, Partner; and included Abhishek Parekh, Principal Associate; Natalee Nanda, Senior Associate; and Joanna Barretto, Associate. The due diligence team also included associates Anamika Ray, Senior Associate; and Akshath Vidyanath, Bhagyashree Madhekar and Apeksha Narula, Associates.
