Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. is accelerating digital transformation across the firm with the launch of a cloud based, artificial intelligence enabled bespoke e-learning platform branded CLEmentine, earlier this year. It will enable the firm to progress from traditional classroom teaching formats to a virtual platform format that can be accessed anywhere anytime without any physical constraints.
CLEmentine is powered by cutting edge industry leading learning management technology. The platform, with embedded artificial intelligence, offers deeper and more effective learning experiences. The modules are custom-built and have been designed to be user friendly to make learning, engaging, interesting and fun. It also supports personalized learning paths, and interactive content for a user-specific experience where it automatically tags users’ content to produce deeper, customised search results.
Pallavi Shroff, Managing Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. said, “The launch of CLEmentine will further accelerate our digital transformation initiatives. Technology is helping our people deliver high performance by enabling them to optimize time on higher value tasks. This highly engaging e[1]learning platform is a significant step for allowing our people to be up to speed with upskilling while balancing client related work priorities.”
Deepa Mookerjee, Head of Learning & Development said, “The firm is cognizant of the profound societal and cultural shifts taking place today, and the effects that these have on our constituents. We are committed towards adapting to these changes by designing a workplace and culture that enables and empowers our people. CLEmentine is one of these initiatives – a solution custom-built by the firm to fit continuing learning objectives into our constituents’ busy lives, rather than making people fit their lives around continuing learning objectives. The prevalent practice of asking people to drop work or personal commitments at inconvenient times to attend long-winded ad-libbed lectures is a broken system. CLEmentine delivers bespoke training to our people on their terms, on their schedule and at their convenience.”
The platform enables users to keep a track of their progress and provides round-the-clock video training. It can be used virtually on smartphones, tablets, PCs, laptops anytime, anywhere. It will enable team members to work across geographies and share information and expertise to support effective outcomes.
The Firm has a dedicated team overseeing the Platform, currently featuring over 200 courses. Apart from curated video content created by senior lawyers and partners for junior lawyers, SAM Dialogue sessions are taken for senior lawyers by partners and external consultants on key issues and recent trends and developments. The courses created with inputs from practitioners, take the content beyond a theoretical exercise to its application at work. These include courses such as the dispute resolution and corporate foundation course, created by senior lawyers and partners as the basic building blocks essential for junior lawyers. Other courses include decoding financial statements focused on enhancing technical skills, to courses on developing workplace skills such as writing and presentation, amongst many others.
The launch of CLEmentine augments the Firm’s previous initiatives to accelerate digital transformation, such as the Citrix virtual workplace platform, AI machine learning enabled automation suite for navigating complex legal documents, and optimized use of enterprise collaboration platforms to engage with clients and teams dispersed geographically, among other initiatives.
