Oil India Limited & Ors case The Supreme Court of India (“Supreme Court”) has observed that the National Green Tribunal (“NGT”) was in error in appointing the Chief Secretary as the chairperson of the committee and including the Managing Director of OIL as one of its members. In another case. Suchem Organics Pvt. Ltd. v. Central Ground Water Authority & Ors.; Supreme Court has set aside the NGT order dated 03 June, 2021 and other consequential orders passed, and directed the NGT to consider the matter afresh after issuing notice and giving the appellant an opportunity of being heard.
