SEBI has amended the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations 2015, specifically Regulation 17 (1B), to allow time till 1 April 2022 for the top 500 listed entities to ensure that the Chairperson of the board of such listed entity is a non-executive director and is not related to the Managing Director or the Chief Executive Officer (as per the definition of the term “relative” under the Companies Act, 2013).
Earlier, these listed entities had to ensure such compliance till 1 April 2020.
