The SAM AI & Emerging Technologies Team launched “AI Governance for Indian Startups – A Set of Principles,” in partnership with the Government of Karnataka and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission on 23^rd September 2026 at The Mangaluru Technovanza, 2026 in Bengaluru.

As India’s AI ecosystem scales, startups need governance frameworks that help them innovate responsibly while navigating growth, risk and regulatory expectations. The report offers practical principles that startups can use to build stronger AI governance practices, identify risks early, and scale their AI offerings with greater trust and confidence.

The report has been co-authored by Roshan Menon, Principal Associate, Vishwajeet Deshmukh, Associate and Himali Sylvester, Associate under the guidance of our Executive Chairman, Dr. Shardul S. Shroff.
